Lift Station Technician
We are hiring a qualified Lift Station Technician. The Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, testing, and troubleshooting lift stations in a safe and cost-effective manner that supports the goals of the District. This role will also ensure compliance and supports the mission, vision, values, and objectives of The School District of Lee County.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in testing and repairing lift stations, with a background that includes welding, soldering, electrical work, operation of control units, pumps, and motors.
- Valid Florida driver’s license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Florida commercial driver’s license (CDL) class B; air brakes endorsement.
- Certification as a Wastewater Collection System Operator.
- Experience in working with both low and high-voltage electrical equipment.
- Forklift certification.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Repair, test, and maintain lift stations, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues both on-site and remotely via telephone.
- Operate light and heavy duty equipment such as forklifts, power generation, and lawn mowing equipment.
- Capability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints effectively.
- Conduct routine and annual scheduled service, testing, and preventive maintenance.
- Create detailed records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and parts utilized. Ensure timely documentation of any modifications made.
- Adhere to relevant safety regulations and procedures.
- Interact with personnel at building sites to gather, communicate, and update necessary information for resolving lift station issues.
- Maintain current licensure and certifications.
- Any job-related duties as assigned.
