Job Summary :

Data Governance Architect is responsible for developing and implementing data governance strategies to ensure the accuracy, integrity, quality, and security of the district's data assets. This role requires a deep understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data governance, along with good leadership and technical skills to guide data governance council initiatives, and align data practices with business objectives. The Data Governance Architect should have expertise in data discovery, data quality, data profiling, data sharing, metadata, data security, and taxonomy, elementary ontology concepts, and Master Data Management (MDM).

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with data stewards, data analysts, and other teams to ensure data models meet
  • current and future data management needs.
  • Provide technical architecture leadership to shape the data council and ensure the technical outcomes of its decisions.
  • Serve as the technical counterpart to solutions and domain architects to ensure alignment of business, data, and technology strategies.
  • Oversee the review of data models, data taxonomy, data domains, metadata, and critical business data.
  • Ensure data content control is precise and unambiguous, and data usage is consistent and transparent.
  • Develop and recommend data architecture components to support data catalogs, data governance, data pipelines, and storage solutions.
  • Design and implement data governance strategies, structures, and processes within the Logitech Organization that are scalable across the entire organization.
  • Provide governance solutions to define governance policies, procedures, security rules and provide easy access to data catalog and related artifacts based on the security definitions.
  • Designing supporting systems to define, benchmark, control and improve data quality.
  • Develop and implement KPIs to access and report on data quality efforts and initiatives.
  • Utilize data modeling techniques to design semantic and ontological models that enhance data understanding and alignment with business concepts.
  • Collaborate with data stewards, data analysts, and other teams to ensure data models meet current and future data management needs.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for data transformation and machine learning initiatives, shaping use cases and integrated implementation strategies.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Four years of full-time, paid, professional experience with in Data Quality, Data Architectural Design and Technologies.
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent in collaboration with the assigned office.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Demonstrated knowledge of :

    o Strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices.

    o Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

    o Proficiency in data management and analysis tools (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, SQL, Excel, Google Sheets, R, Python).

    Demonstrated ability to :

    o Strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices.

    o create and generate reports through Crystal Reports or other District reporting tools, analyzing data from the District's mainframe system.

    o manipulate data using various spreadsheet applications such as MS Excel.

    o meet multiple deadlines in a fast paced and demanding work environment.

    o work independently in a fluid environment as part of a team to accomplish goals.

    o think analytically and logically.

    o support administrators in the attainment of District goals and objectives.

    o operate a personal computer.

    o express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.

    o establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal staff and external partners.

    o apply problem solving skills in the maintenance of databases / tracking systems.

    o be passionate about educational equity.

    o be passionate about using quantitative analysis to drive policy.
