Job Summary
The School District of Philadelphia is committed to providing a great school close to where every child lives. Realizing this vision requires that the District engage in a rigorous progress monitoring process and / or implementation planning process that ensures prioritization and coordination across departments, offices, and focus areas. Specifically, the Director of Strategic Planning will be responsible for managing the District's Progress Monitoring or Implementation Planning processes, coordinating and communicating with the District's leadership team,supporting leadership decision-making and oversight, ensuring alignment with the Board of Education, and developing reports.
The Director brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in strategic planning, policy making, and communications. The Director is a responsive individual skilled in project management, organizational management, and communications. The Director is a self-starter, able to work both independently and collaboratively, and is comfortable navigating complex, unique, and politically charged situations. The Director is thorough, detail-oriented, and maintains exacting standards for the quality of his / her work. The Director is an effective leader, able to inspire and motivate others through times of high stress and uncertainty. The Director is a skilled problem solver, able to rapidly learn and navigate varied organizational circumstances, local political conditions, and District policies and processes.
Reporting to the Chief of Evaluation, Research, and Accountability and working in close collaboration with District leaders, the Director plays a critical role in ensuring the continuity of District planning, implementation, and coordination with the Board of Education.
Essential Functions Works with members of the District's senior leadership team to ensure alignment across the organization and that goals, priorities and actions are understood and actionable. Develop annual milestones for identified actions and coordinate with multiple program offices to monitor the implementation and impact. Develop and manage a framework for progress monitoring and leadership decision-making, oversight, and support.
Title : Director, Strategic Planning
Develop and plan for the successful release of monthly progress monitoring reports related to the Board's Goals and Guardrails, including related internal and external communications. Develop and plan for the successful release of annual School Progress Reports related to the Board's Goals and Guardrails, including related internal and external communications. Plan and develop content to share District progress and key annual initiatives that support the annual budget process. Ensures that priorities, and actions are aligned to and in support of those of the Board of Education.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Master's degree in a related field including an MPA, MPP, M.Ed., MBA, or JD from an accredited college or university. Five years of full-time, paid, professional experience in school district leadership or other relevant experience.

Skills and Abilities Demonstrated knowledge of :
