Experience and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Education from an accredited college or university. Master’s Degree preferred: Program Specialist English as a Second Language (ESL) PK-12
2. Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate in Elementary K-4; Mid-Level 4-8; and/or Secondary 7-12
3. Knowledge of the WIDA framework and Best Practices for Instructional Delivery and Language Development
4. Ability to interact with others in a manner that demonstrates professionalism, respect and dignity
5. Ability to effectively solve problems in a thoughtful and professional manner
6. Act 34 Clearance, Act 151 Clearance, FBI Clearance (self-paid)

Goal
As an ELD (English Language Development) (herein “ELD”) Instructional Coach, your goal is to ensure that ELD teachers and core content teachers are equipped with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to effectively teach English learners. The job focuses on direct instructional coaching, support, and strategic leadership in professional development and data-driven decision-making.
Roles and Responsibilities
Language Curriculum & Instruction Support:
- Facilitate implementation of WIDA (World Class Instructional Design Assessment) (herein “WIDA”) standards across all classrooms, grade levels, and content areas.
- Attend and participate/facilitate in ELD Curriculum meetings and professional development as directed by the Supervisor of ELD.
- Support English Language Development (ELD) curriculum implementation through co-planning, co-teaching and Professional Learning Communities with ELD teachers.
- Model and demonstrate lessons for ELD teachers using the ELD curriculum.
- Model and coach evidence-based language instructional practices for core content teachers in buildings.
- Conduct non-evaluative walkthroughs and provide constructive feedback to teachers to support teaching and learning.
Professional Development/PLC Support:
- Support the District, as well as, building administration in the implementation of Professional Development/Professional Learning Communities for ELD teachers.
- Assist and lead the development and implementation of school and District ELD professional development.
Data & Assessment Support:
- Conduct data and progress monitoring meetings with ELD teachers and the Supervisor of ELD.
- Engage in data analysis and creating coaching & feedback cycles for teachers based on school and District ELD goals.
- Assist with the administration of ACCESS testing and reclassification protocols as directed by the Supervisor of ELD.
Other:
- Support non-public schools with the identification and screening of English Learners based on the SDCY Identification and Screening process for ELs.
- Support the Welcome Center staff and families as needed.
- Support Title 3 activities and programs organized by the Office of ELD.
- Attend school-based faculty and grade-level meetings as needed.
- Attend leadership meetings and conferences as directed by the Supervisor of ELD.
- Support Translation/Interpretation coordination as needed.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of ELD.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $57,004.00 - $98,288.00 per year
