Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated entry level attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have taken courses concerning litigation and advocacy, and be ready to learn the practice of personal injury law. This role requires excellent advocacy and negotiation skills and the ability to produce written discovery, conduct depositions, and ultimately try cases, to effectively represent our injured clients. You will work collaboratively with the attorneys and staff in our office.
In addition to base compensation, we are open to the idea of you earning a portion of the attorney's fee for those cases that you handle and resolve, whether via negotiation or trial.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in court and during legal proceedings, including trials and hearings.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients while advocating for their best interests.
- Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations relevant to personal injury law.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to develop case strategies and share insights on complex medical and legal issues.
- Maintain accurate records of case files and client communications, including using case management software.
- Provide guidance and advice to clients regarding their legal rights and options.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Connecticut.
- Strong skills in oral and written advocacy, with attention to detail.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively for clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
