A Maintenance Planner is responsible for managing and coordinating maintenance tasks within an organization to ensure efficient operations. This role involves developing maintenance strategies, scheduling tasks, and ensuring the availability of necessary resources to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies and schedules. Review and understand equipment and machinery manuals to determine standard operating procedures. Coordinate with maintenance technicians to prioritize and execute maintenance tasks. Estimate the time and resources needed for each maintenance job.
- Monitor and manage spare parts inventory, ensuring availability for routine and emergency maintenance. Work with vendors and suppliers for the procurement of necessary tools, equipment, and parts. Inspect the workplace for potential safety hazards and implement safety protocols.
- Utilize maintenance management software to record, track, and analyze maintenance work. Prepare and present reports on maintenance activities and their effectiveness. Track maintenance performance and identify areas for improvement.
