POSITION TITLE:
Full-Time Substitute Teacher (7:50 AM – 3:10 PM M-Th, 7:50 AM – 2:00 PM F)

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This is a full-time, exempt, 187 day position. Responsibilities include plan, prepare and p
resent lessons of appropriate academic work to their students, use appropriate
communication techniques to assure clarity and accuracy of conveyed information, attend
in-service and departmental meetings to participate in decision-making, to maintain current
knowledge in the field, and to gain new understanding of new techniques and methodologies
in education, manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize
distractions and maintain a positive learning environment, adapt teaching methods to fit
needs of each individual student, supervise students in and out of classrooms and hallways
and transition to other classes
QUALIFICATIONS:
The individual must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree and a PA Deaf Education teaching
certification is required.
SIGNING REQUIREMENTS:
The Sign Language Proficiency Interview for the position is “Advanced.” The minimum
level accepted at hire is “Intermediate.”
CLEARANCES REQUIRED:
PA Criminal Background, PA Child Abuse, and FBI Clearance required. Physical, TB
and Drug Screen also required.
