JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Downtown Team Store Assistant Manager
Department: Merchandising
Reports To: Downtown Team Store Manager
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Directly Supervises: Downtown Team Store Staff

 

Primary Objective:  Responsible for assisting the Store manager in the overall results of the Downtown Team Store, while ensuring an efficient and effective operation, and providing leadership of staff.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee the day-to-day store business operations, merchandising, and people resources to generate retail sales. 
  • Perform opening and closing procedures and help oversee all store operations including cash management, guest service, sale, and merchandising
  • Provide strong people leadership; assist in implementing strategies to effectively manage Team Members and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of department’s people resources.
  • Assist in the recruiting, assessing, and hiring of qualified candidates.
  • Assist in the training, evaluating performance, and fostering growth and development of Team Members, encouraging personal and professional development.
  • Lead with a positive attitude and demonstrate commitment to all Team Members. 
  • Manage and develop all Team Members and ensures the Mariners Way is being delivered to guests and to each other.
  • Generate timely schedules for all staff in Workforce Lineup and work through any additional special event requirements.
  • Participate in sales floor processes, ensure total guest satisfaction, and develop strong guest rapport.
  • Assist in the execution of company action plans to increase sales, revenue and profits and reduce shrink.
  • Follow all organizational labor guidelines and human resources policies and regulations and monitor for compliance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Report guest and employee feedback to Store Manager.
  • Responsible for store inventory including processing store freight/transfer daily to completion, and implementing loss prevention protocol.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all products. 
  • Assist in the overall visual presentation of store by merchandising new product, setting promotions/sales, and refreshing visual displays.
  • Effectively operate relevant systems including but not limited to point-of-sale operating system.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in business administration or another related field preferred.  Equivalent, relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education if approved by management.
  • A minimum of 1-year merchandising experience in an apparel environment required.
  • Prior visual merchandising experience preferred.

 Physical Activities and Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work games and assigned events including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to move up to 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Frequent to constant walking and standing on concrete or carpeted floor.
  • Must have functional manual dexterity to operate computer system.
  • Must be able to use communication tools such as two-way radios.
  • Outdoor work environment, subject to fluctuation in temperatures, exposure to the sun and elements.
  • Must be able to walk up and down steep stairs and maintain balance while moving merchandise.

The anticipated pay range for this role $28 - $30 per hour. We also provide complimentary parking and paid public transportation.
