Position Overview :
The Human Resource Director serves as a strategic partner to school leadership, driving the overall HR strategy to support the organization's mission and goals. This leadership role is responsible for managing all aspects of human resources within the school, including talent acquisition, employee relations, payroll processing, compliance, investigations, and personnel management. The HR Director ensures alignment between human resources initiatives and the school’s strategic objectives, providing guidance to leadership on complex HR issues, fostering a positive organizational culture, and ensuring full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions :
HR Strategy & Leadership : Lead and develop the school’s HR strategy, aligning HR practices with organizational goals. Partner with senior leadership to identify HR priorities, enhance organizational effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement in HR practices.Payroll & Compliance : Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely processing in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Maintain HR records, including background checks, teaching certifications, and other compliance-related documentation.Employee Relations & Investigations : Manage and oversee internal investigations related to employee concerns, conduct thorough, unbiased investigations, and ensure proper documentation.Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning : Lead and manage the staffing and recruitment process, including position vacancies and faculty contract renewals. Drive year-round outreach efforts to develop a robust talent pipeline by partnering with colleges, universities, and recruitment fairs.Training & Development : Partner with school leadership to design, implement, and evaluate staff training and development programs that align with the school’s goals and foster a culture of continuous learning and growth.Organizational Design & Staffing Strategy : Collaborate with leadership to review organizational structure, staffing levels, and operational functions, providing recommendations for improvements and aligning staffing with business needs.Policy & Program Implementation : Ensure HR policies, initiatives, and programs are effectively communicated, implemented, and adhered to by all staff. Serve as a trusted advisor on HR matters, providing guidance on best practices and compliance issues.Diversity & Inclusion : Foster a diverse and inclusive work environment, promoting equal opportunities for all employees and serving as a role model for access to management and inclusive practices.Employee Well-being : Actively promote a positive work environment, monitor employee morale, and address concerns to maintain employee engagement and retention.External Liaison & Reporting : Serve as the primary liaison with external organizations, such as the MDCPS Personnel Department, and ensure compliance. Prepare and submit HR-related reports as required.Additional Responsibilities : Perform other relevant duties as assigned to support the strategic objectives of the organization and ensure the smooth operation of the school’s HR functions.

Required Experience and Education :
The Human Resource Director will possess the following :
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or relevant certifications such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred).Proven experience as an HR Director or senior HR leader, ideally in an educational or non-profit setting.Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including payroll, benefits, and compliance matters.Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated experience in managing investigations, employee relations, and resolving complex HR issues.Expertise in talent acquisition, recruitment strategies, and workforce planning.Ability to manage and prioritize multiple HR functions in a fast-paced environment.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on data and organizational goals.Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.Experience working with personnel departments, particularly with government agencies, is preferred.SEED Employee :
