Data Center Technician (Atlanta - 30318)
Our client, a growing software company, is looking to hire a Data Center Technician in Atlanta, GA (30318). The ideal candidate for this role will have a working understanding of data center technologies, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and excellent communication skills. This position will be 100% on-site M-F.

Working hours: M-F 6 PM - 2 AM
Training hours: M-F 4 PM - 12 AM, training will be about 1 month
Contract duration: 12+ months with the potential to convert or extend
Must-Have Skills:
US Citizen
Hardware troubleshooting experience - HP servers and Cisco servers
Cabling skills
Shipping and Receiving
Hardware replacement
Self-motivated, task themselves on the job
Computer skills with Excel (or equivalent) – Need to be able to add in lines, filter information, data sorting, and cell manipulation
Organization skills
Nice to Have Skills:
Opengear for console management
OpenStack
Linux commands
Key Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Data Center technologies – compute, network, storage, cabling, racks, PDUs, etc.
Great knowledge and experience with planning cooling, power, and space resources
Linux/Unix system administration, networking, and SAN connectivity skills are strongly desired
Experience working with vendors (quote-purchase process, RMA processes, support interactions)
Understanding of shipping & receiving, inventory, and distribution practice
Scripting skills are a plus
Experience supporting 24x7 customer-facing production environment
Ability to troubleshoot and solve hardware problems with minimal supervision
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Key Responsibilities:
Perform equipment installs – compute, network, storage, racks, PDUs, cabling, etc.
Closely monitor infrastructure to prevent failures and service degradation
Assist in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and escalating any problems internally and externally.
Work with other Operations teams on troubleshooting and resolution of problems including hardware failures and physical connectivity problems
Communicate and coordinate with remote hands in remote datacenters
Maintain impeccable documentation around our data center configuration
Set standards of excellence for all data center operations
Maintain asset inventory – both installed and spares
Perform all shipping and receiving duties including RMA activities
Maintain clean and orderly premises at all times
Update and work on tickets and tasks assigned in a timely manner
Follow the change management process
Participate in off-hours change windows
Provide 24x7 support as needed
