DATA SCIENTIST

The Select Group is currently hiring for a Data Scientist to join as a resource for one of our clients within the Telecommunications industry that will work a hybrid schedule in Denver, CO . This Data Scientist will be joining the Ongoing Quality Experience Program that consists of identifying network connection issues for millions of everyday customers based on the main data points collected directly from customers network activity. This Scientist should be an Associate-Mid level resource that can effectively provide analysis and data modeling skills to this team to assist with identifying the best way possible to fix network connection issues. The effective resource will have an expertise in programming using Python to create ML models to predict future network issues for customers as well as provide SQL querying and visualization skills to identify and present on past network performance issues. DATA SCIENTIST REQUIREMENTS :

Must possess a minimum of 4 years of Experience within a Data Science capacity (Machine Leading Engineer, Data Scientist, Insights Scientist, Etc.)
Possess 2 years of experience utilizing Python as the main programming / scripting ( R programming knowledge is preferred as well) languages to build statistical models as well as using it for automating certain tasks
Ideally possess 5-7 years' experience analyzing data using SQL to write complex queries to pull data from different data storages - (Data Analysis experience would be sufficient even early on in a career)
Experienced (4 years) of experience with data visualizations - drafting reports dashboards, or charts / graphs to easily provide insights for higher level non-data heavy stakeholders. Ideally using Tableau in previous roles (Power BI, Looker, Qlik accepted as well)
Deep understanding of Data Science mythologies and procedures of practice - Schooling or professional experience in advanced Mathematics or Statistical Modeling / Analysis
Data repository tooling experience using Git, GitHub, Gitlab, etc.

PLUS SKILLS :

Cloud Data Warehousing exposure in past roles ideally utilizing Snowflake

DATA SCIENTIST RESPONSIBILITIES :

Initially start will basic analytical / analysis responsibilities - pulling (SQL Querying) customer networking metrics, sorting, manipulating, and analyzing to make general sense of raw data collected and stored in backend databases or cloud based data-warehouses

Joining different data sets to fill in gaps that may be missing during the initial analysis phase. Uncover clues that will help to diagnose network problems based on the data collected

Input data into Cohorts to then work with subject matter experts on Networking diagnoses problems

Statistical modeling to predict outages happening in the future based on past events and network related customer problems

Manage statistical data to create different models based on stakeholder needs - process researched information for easier consumption and transform it into actionable plans

Utilize advanced knowledge of different data science techniques such as clustering, regression analysis, decision trees and support vector machines as the team sees fit to accomplish the overall team goals

Data visualization creations - identify the best way to easily and effectively present the findings to higher level executives and business minded stakeholders for them to drive actions of efficiency and higher standards for customers
