IT Support Technician
Location: Fully On-Site - Austin, TX 78746
Schedule: 9 AM - 5 PM CT
Start Date: ASAP
Job Duration: Rolling Contract (Potential for Conversion)
About the Role:
A leading networking technology company is expanding its presence in Austin and seeking a skilled IT Support Technician to provide internal IT support for its global employee base. This individual will be the go-to IT person onsite for the Austin office (supporting up to 100 users) while working closely with the global IT team to support companywide users and IT projects.
This role requires independence, self-sufficiency, and problem-solving skills, as the technician will be the sole IT resource onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
4 years of IT helpdesk experience in a global enterprise environment.
Experience supporting Mac, Windows, and Linux users.
Strong knowledge of Google GSuite (Google Workspace).
Experience administering Microsoft 365 (M365).
Solid understanding of Wi-Fi, DHCP, DNS, VPN, and MFA.
Ability to rack/mount switches and set up basic networking infrastructure.
Hands-on experience with security systems, badging systems, and cameras.
Experience with endpoint management solutions and endpoint security tools.
Strong troubleshooting skills for networking, Wi-Fi, and VPN issues.
Familiarity with A/V conferencing solutions (Polycom, Crestron, Zoom, Google Meet).
Excellent communication skills - ability to support users across different cultures.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks independently.
Ability to lift 35 lbs (for hardware setup and installation).
Understanding of AI platforms and their use cases (e.g., Google Gemini).
U.S. Citizenship is required (possible support for federal teams).
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Azure, or AWS Administration.
Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.).
Experience managing SaaS applications and end-user productivity tools.
Background in server, network technology, and data center environments.
Education & Certification:
Bachelor's degree preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.

- Maintain Audio/Video Conferencing Systems such as Polycom, Crestron, Zoom, Google Meet, and Live Stream.
- Resolve tickets efficiently within a high-volume ticketing environment.
- Set up and manage IT equipment for new employees (laptops, printers, peripherals).
- Collaborate with facility vendors for IT-related infrastructure needs.
- Maintain and manage an inventory of laptops and accessories.
- Participate in IT projects, including setting up a lab for the support team.
