Position Summary:
The ARCD oversees the management of the Memory Care staff. The ARCD will plan, organize, develop and lead the overall operations of the program in accordance with federal, state and local laws. The ARCD will work with the Resident Care Director to evaluate the care delivered to the residents as well as mentor/monitor the successful engagement of activities for the residents. This role partners with the RCD in order that the services driven by the resident service plan are provided and changes are communicated.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Consults with the Resident Services Manager on potential new admissions.
- Supervises and disciplines Personal Care Aides.
- Motivates residents to function in a homelike environment by utilizing person-center care and choices.
- Ensures that all Resident Rights and Responsibilities are protected and enforced.
- Ensures compliance of all State Rules and Regulations.
- Establishes and maintains a close liaison with residents and families.
- Ensures compliance with all Fire Safety Procedures.
- Responsible for the transfer/discharge process whereby residents are transitioned smoothly to higher levels of care, as required. Counsels with resident representatives as needed.
- Conducts ongoing care management meetings. Counsels staff on specific problems encountered by residents. Communicates with appropriate agencies.
- Participate with local Alzheimer’s Association chapters.
- Conduct tours as needed for prospective residents and families.
- Must be available some evenings, weekends and holidays to provide support and to assist the operations. May be subject to call-backs during emergency conditions.

- Directly supervises employees in Memory support. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include participating in the interviewing, hiring, and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees with consult from the Human Resources Department.
- Registered Nurse
- Knowledge and experience with assisted living regulations.
- Knowledgeable about the Dementia disease process and management experience in a Memory support unit (preferred).
