Job Posting: Financial Officer, Shack Neighborhood House, Morgantown, WV
The Shack Neighborhood House is now seeking a Financial Officer who can honor our mission of serving families in western Monongalia County.
The Shack has been serving families in Monongalia County for over 90 years, providing school-age care, summer and aquatics programs, tutoring, and a growing food program for families and children. Our Financial Officer works with the Shack Neighborhood House team members to ensure compliance with goals and objectives established by the Shack Neighborhood House Organization. This team member communicates effectively in writing, orally and via telephone with all levels of personnel, clientele and visitors. Inputs and retrieves computerized data as well as maintains bookkeeping responsibilities.
Minimum qualifications include an associate's degree, 1-3 years financial administration experience, 1-3 years of payroll and bookkeeping, and strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to compose correspondence. Must be proficient with Quickbooks, Microsoft Office, Work, Excel and PowerPoint. Budgeting experience and work with grants is preferred. Must exhibit a positive attitude and willingness to learn, strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
Duties include , Serves as the organization's bookkeeper, collects and records fees, issues receipts, deposits funds, provides financial reports to the Board of Directors, assists t in preparation of the budget, prepares and administers payroll including tax documentation, maintains all records related to program and grants, maintains personnel files, manages petty cash, maintains, checkbook and pays invoices and other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree (Accounting/Finance) is preferred. Other preferred qualifications include three years of experience in finance and grant administration and community relations. Candidates must possess outstanding communication skills, an innovative and collaborative spirit, strong financial management skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for service.
