Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in the kitchen. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently while delivering delicious meals to our guests.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables, meats, and other food items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest quality of food is served.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
- Participate in training new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a cook or in a food service role is preferred.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various kitchen equipment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- A passion for the culinary arts and a desire to learn and grow within the food industry.
- Experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is a plus but not required.
