Job Type: Part-time / Full-time

Position Overview

The Shack is looking for a friendly, organized, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Host/Cashier. This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth front-of-house operations, managing to-go orders, assisting with bussing tables, and providing top-tier customer service to guests dining in and picking up orders.

Duties

• Greet guests warmly as they arrive and guide them to their tables.
• Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently to optimize seating.
• Take customer orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen staff.
• Process payments using Aloha POS system, ensuring accuracy in transactions.
• Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
• Maintain cleanliness of the front-of-house area, including bussing tables as needed.
• Provide excellent guest services by addressing inquiries or concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities Host Duties:

• Greet guests warmly and promptly as they enter the restaurant.
• Manage the waitlist and seat guests efficiently.
• Communicate accurate wait times to guests and ensure a smooth flow of service.
• Assist servers with bussing and resetting tables between guests.

Cashier & To-Go Orders:

• Take and process pickup and to-go orders efficiently via phone and walk ups.
• Accurately handle payments, including cash and credit card transactions.
• Ensure all to-go orders are properly packaged and include the correct items.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pickup/to-go area.

Customer Service:

• Provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all guests.
• Assist with guest inquiries and resolve issues professionally.
• Communicate with the kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely service.

Additional Duties:

• Keep the host stand and to-go area clean and organized.
• Assist with light cleaning duties, including bussing tables when needed.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills

✅ Previous customer service or restaurant experience preferred but not required.
✅ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
✅ Strong communication skills and positive attitude.
✅ Comfortable handling cash and electronic transactions accurately.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $8.00 - $10.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 30 per week
