Job Responsibilities:
1. Training and Professional Development:
- Participate in a comprehensive training program to learn ABA principles, techniques, and intervention strategies.
- Full-time employees may be eligible to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). The process of attaining your RBT credential involves comprehensive training and hands-on experience all provided and paid for by The Shafer Center.
- Learn individualized plans to work directly with students.
- Receive ongoing guidance and mentorship from experienced professionals in the field.
2. Direct Student Support:
- Provide one-on-one support to students in the school setting in areas including: academic support, activities of daily living (feeding, dressing, bathroom – as applicable), behavioral support, communication and sensory support, and development of play and social skills
- Utilize positive reinforcement strategies to motivate and encourage students in meeting their goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field is a plus).
- Passion for working with children and making a positive impact.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn and apply ABA principles in a school setting.
