What are the responsibilities and job description for the Module Estimator position at The Shaw Group, LLC?
Summary:
The Module Estimator will prepare cost estimating services for the preparation of bids and projects to support Structural assembly and fabrication. Ensures all costs are properly captured and documented.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing detailed estimates in accordance with the scope of work.
- Conducts bid review meeting with the Manager of Estimating, Project Manager, and/or business line management to finalize bid, markup, and strategies.
- Communicate with module team to develop subcontract packages.
- Manage bid pricing from subcontractors.
- Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services, applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles, or processes.
- Ensure timely completion of estimates.
- Understand all scopes of work and price accordingly.
- Applies basic technical skills and knowledge to complete assigned work.
- Manages own time to meet agreed targets; develops plans for short-term work activities in own area.
- Ability to work in teams or as an individual.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’ or Bachelor’ degree in relevant field or relevant work experience.
- Typically has 2-5 years’ relevant experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to reach, stand, walk, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and to perform repetitive motions.
- Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
