Summary:
The Cost Controls Manager's overall goal is to support Project Engineers on cost control tasks; They would mainly develop, oversee, audit, and provide corporate-level reporting on Cost Control topics. The Cost Controls Manager manages and coordinates the entire spectrum of Cost Controls activities for Chemex. They are responsible for the oversight of Cost Control activities across all projects, assisting the Project Engineering teams on items such as budgeting, forecasting, change management and reporting. They are responsible for the management, training, and development of all Cost Control Specialists.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement cost control procedures and methods.
- Oversee project cost management, including monthly updates, forecasting, and invoicing.
- Analyze cost reports and audits to ensure accurate allocation and compliance.
- Manage change orders and minimize additional costs from subcontractors.
- Guide the preparation, monitoring, and adjustment of project schedules.
- Ensure schedules align with project goals and deliverables.
- Supervise and mentor Cost Control Specialists, providing technical guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Set team priorities and coordinate activities to meet deadlines and project objectives.
- Promote a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment.
- Manage relationships with clients and subcontractors to ensure timely and budget-compliant deliverables.
- Lead client and subcontractor meetings, issuing minutes of meetings (MOM) and ensuring follow-ups.
- Maintain high client satisfaction throughout project phases.
- Prepare and analyze cost and progress reports, ensuring timely delivery to stakeholders.
- Oversee documentation processes, including compliance with the Master Document Register (MDR).
- Lead project risk and opportunity reviews, identifying proactive solutions to potential challenges.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve project control processes.
- Monitor and allocate resources effectively to achieve operational objectives.
- Uphold and lead a culture of safety, ensuring zero incidents across projects.
- Work closely with subcontractors and project teams to maintain compliance with safety requirements.
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support the success of projects.
Specific Skills:
- Strong expertise in cost control, budget management, and financial reporting.
- Advanced knowledge of scheduling techniques and tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
- Proven ability to manage and develop teams, including mentoring and training.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Construction Management, Accounting, Economics, or related degree.
- 5–10 years of experience in project controls or a related field.

Physical Requirements:
