- Supervise and lead the estimating team, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
- Assign tasks and manage workloads to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs to enhance team capabilities.
- Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs to ensure accurate project bids.
- Ensure estimates are aligned with project scope, risk factors, and timelines.
- Verify and validate estimates prepared by team members before submission.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to gather pricing and scope details.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations to better understand project requirements.
- Present estimates to senior management and clients, providing clear and concise justifications.
- Develop and refine estimating tools, templates, and databases to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement industry best practices and advanced technology to streamline estimating workflows.
- Analyze project outcomes to identify discrepancies between estimated and actual costs, and refine future estimation strategies.
- Ensure all estimates adhere to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on bidding activities, project wins/losses, and team performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing bids for commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and labor markets.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse teams and clients.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to reach, stand, walk, use fingers, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and to perform repetitive motions.
