Responsibilities
The Millwright will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with safety standards and operational requirements. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience working with heavy machinery in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Responsibilities
- Install, align, dismantle, and relocate industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical issues in equipment, ensuring efficient and safe operation.
- Preform preventive maintenance, including lubrication, adjustments, and parts replacement, to minimize downtime.
- Operate hoists, cranes, and other lifting equipment to position and secure machinery.
- Use a variety of tools, such as welding equipment, lathes, and hand tools, to repair and modify parts as needed.
- Collaborate with engineers, electricians, and other maintenance staff to optimize machinery performance.
- Follow safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and OSHA standards, to prevent workplace hazards.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a millwright apprenticeship or trade school program preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in millwright or industrial maintenance roles.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience with welding, fabrication, and machining is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and to perform repetitive motions.
- Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
