The Tool Room Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the tool room in a module fabricating environment. This role ensures that all tools, equipment, and consumables are properly maintained, stored, and issued to production personnel efficiently. The Foreman will also be responsible for inventory control, procurement, and ensuring compliance with company safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate tool room activities, including issuing, receiving, maintaining, and repairing tools and equipment.
- Ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working condition and meet company and industry safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of tool inventory, calibrations, and inspections.
- Monitor tool usage and coordinate procurement to prevent shortages and downtime.
- Work closely with production and maintenance teams to ensure tool availability and proper usage.
- Train and mentor tool room staff on proper handling, maintenance, and safety procedures.
- Implement and enforce company policies regarding tool usage and return procedures.
- Assist in troubleshooting tooling-related issues and recommend process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient tool room.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tool room environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment used in module fabrication.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and procurement processes.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
