We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Fishing Guide to join our team. As a Fishing Guide, you will play a crucial role in providing an exceptional outdoor experience for our clients. You will be responsible for leading fishing trips, educating participants about fishing techniques, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment. Type of Position: Part time/hourly rate / Sat & Sun required
Position is Seasonal: May-September
General Description: The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort is currently looking for a Licensed Fishing Guide to join our dedicated team in providing exceptional guided fishing trips to every angler guest while promoting Shawnee’s authentic location and fishing resource. Must possess and maintain current certification in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and basic first aid skills. Must possess valid fishing licenses and the stamps and permits required for the waters in which they fish. Must possess a boating safety education certificate issued by the Commission or by another state in accordance with criteria of the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators or a boat operator’s license issued by the U.S. Coast Guard.
General Qualifications:
This is a multifaceted guest-oriented position requires someone who is responsible, reliable and very punctual. Need strong communication skills and a good working knowledge of fly & spin fishing. Requires the ability to provide total guest satisfaction at every opportunity. Other requirements would be to possess a valid PA driver’s license, have a good driving record, ability to lift at least 90lbs, ability to be on your feet for 8 hours along with the ability to work outdoors.
Essential Functions:
Being courteous and helpful to all guests who come to the recreation base for information.
Engaging guests at every opportunity by greeting them and asking them questions.
Setting up guests with fishing equipment rentals
Recommending and assisting in procuring rental equipment
Maintaining, prepping and cleaning of fishing equipment, vehicles & boats.
Transporting guests, trailer-ed boats with company truck & vans.
Ring guests up in the pos system
Getting bank from the front desk
Take reservations and giving out accurate information to guests over the phone.
Able to teach basic casting techniques
Must be able to maneuver a craft and ensure the safe operation of crafts.
Ability to navigate the Delaware river in a safe and efficient manner.
Adhere to all NPS & PA Fish & Boat Commission guidelines while in/on/around the water.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
