Server for Upscale Casual Dining

The Shelby is looking for friendly and outgoing servers. Work in a fast paced and fun environment with a talented team. Previous experience required, must have reliable transportation.

Job Type: Full Time

We are looking for a professional, high-energy server with excellent communication skills to serve our exceptional food and beverages to guests. The server will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and serve beverages and food. You will also upsell items, keep your section clean and well attended, and handle basic cleaning duties.

Server Responsibilities:

• Welcoming customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking orders.
• Knowing daily featured cocktails and food and presenting it to the guests
• Selecting beverages, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.
• Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
• Accomplishing assigned side work, ensuring the dining room is stocked up for success.
• Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.
• Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons.
• Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and polishing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
• Being a team player that communicates well with management and other servers alike.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required.
• Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong task and time management abilities.
• Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc. for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs.

To succeed as a server, you should have a neat appearance and engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

• 10 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Morning shift

Experience:

• Restaurant experience: 2 years (Required)

Ability to Commute:

• Allentown, PA 18106 (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• Allentown, PA 18106: Relocate before starting work (Required)
