What are the responsibilities and job description for the Homebound Tutor position at The Sherman School?
Located in an idyllic setting in the northernmost corner of Fairfield County, Connecticut, The Sherman School is a small, PK-8 school with approximately 250 students and 80 dedicated faculty and staff members. We offer small class sizes, and wonderful resources to support our programs.
Position/Title: Homebound Tutor
Broad Function: Homebound Tutors provide tutoring services to students who are unable to attend school. Hours vary based on student need.
Duties:
- Various hours, times, grade levels and subject areas
- Work 1:1 with student at public library or home
- Document work completed
- Maintain communication with Department of Student Services and Special Education
Supervised By: Pupil Services
Qualification Profile:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Candidate should demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain a good rapport with students and possess a personable relationship with teachers.
- Consideration will be given to the following:
- Ability to carry out directions in both oral and written form.
- Various life/work experiences that contribute to the candidate's overall preparedness.
- Prior experience working with school age children.
Pay rate: $40/hr
