About the Role :

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate NYS Certified Special Education Teacher. The successful candidate will work with children ages 4 - 13 with a range of special needs and disabilities, creating individualized educational plans to help each student reach their full potential.

Responsibilities :

• Work with small groups of students on activities focused on goal acquisition, social skills and communication in accordance with teacher established lesson plans and a students IEP
• Implement behavior plans in accordance with students BIPs and classroom behavior management strategies and collect data when needed for progress monitoring
• Supervise and mentor assistant teachers
• Carryover daily school routines
• Work on ADL skills
• Go on community outings to practice real-life skills
• Work with individual student(s) or small groups of students on special instructional curriculum / projects / lessons ; assisting students in the use of instructional resources
• Hours : 7 : 30am- 3 : 30pm

Requirements :

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Childhood Special Education (required)
• Experience working with children with a range of special needs and

disabilities and students with behavioral challenges

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team
