Job Description :
At The Shoshana we understand that early access to breastfeeding support is key to successful breastfeeding. We are committed to providing 24 / 7 access to breastfeeding support to all of our guests. We are seeking International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) to provide expert breastfeeding support to our new mothers.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lactation Assessment : Conducting comprehensive lactation assessments to identify and address breastfeeding issues.
- Education and Instruction : Providing education and instruction to new parents on breastfeeding techniques, positions, pumping and common challenges.
- Consultations : Offering one-on-one consultations to support and guide breastfeeding mothers.
- Coordination of Care : Coordinating care for patients with complex lactation needs, including collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- Advocacy : Advocating for breastfeeding and supporting policies that promote breastfeeding-friendly environments.
- Follow-Up Care : Providing follow-up care to ensure ongoing breastfeeding success and addressing any new concerns.
- Certification : Current IBCLC certification from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE).
- Education : A degree in nursing, nutrition, or a related field.
- Experience : Experience in lactation consulting or a related healthcare field.
- Skills : Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge : In-depth knowledge of human lactation, breastfeeding, and related health issues.
- Hours : Must be able to work flexible hours.
- Background : Must be able to pass a background check.
- CPR : Certification required.
