Job Summary
The Siebold Company Inc. is seeking skilled Journeyman Millwrights with a minimum of 4 years experience in material automation systems, conveyors, robotics and general machinery installations. Jobsite supervision and good communication skills are a plus.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Construct and install equipment such as sortation, inserting, lifts, conveyors and tram rails.
- Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
- Move equipment and machinery as needed either manually or with the proper and safe use of equipment.
- Review and interpret engineering specifications, schematics, and blueprints to determine work procedures.
- Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime
- Use a variety of hand tools, measuring tools, and equipment for cutting, welding and brazing to adequately fulfill your daily job duties.
- Grind and file machinery parts.
- Utilize forklifts, scissor lifts, chain falls to complete large-scale projects.
- Review and follow highly technical and complex machinery manuals
- Put your professional judgement to good use to decide which machines, techniques and tools are the best option for moving equipment and completing all necessary jobs
- Package and categorize machine parts after taking them apart with accuracy and according to the company’s standards and specific project requirements
- Clean up at the end of shift to make sure your job site remains well-organized and free of unnecessary clutter
- Take steps to ensure every job is done in a manner that’s safe and completed according to the latest workplace safety regulations, laws and requirements
All tradesman must be able to physically perform the following job tasks:
- Helping in the erection of support steel with headers and drops.
- Aiding in the assembly of large conveyor systems.
- Work efficiently and conflict free with other crew members.
- Lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
- Climb ladders and work safely from elevated locations.
- Safely operate power tools such as reciprocating saw, porta-band saw, and hand drills.
- Cleaning and preparing job site.
- Safely operate forklifts and man lifts.
Qualifications and Skills
All applicants must meet the following job criteria:
- Current knowledge of the latest OSHA and industry safety measures.
- Ability to understand and communicate information to job superintendent.
- Ability to read and interpret job-site blueprints.
- Must be able to focus on and complete an assigned task.
- Mechanical background and electrical knowledge is preferred.
- Must have basic mechanical tools to help in installation of conveyor systems.
- Must pass a drug test background check prior to employment.
- Reliable Transportation to get to and from work.
- Must be safety conscious.
- Must be able to work well in teams.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 – 60 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
