What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restaurant Host position at The Silver Spike Bar & Grill?
We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and organized host or hostess to join our restaurant team. In this position, you will stay near the front of the restaurant, greeting and seating customers as they arrive. You may also list our specials for our guests to consider while they wait for a server. You may also assist in cleaning tables and chairs, quickly removing dirty dishes, and assisting the servers or bartenders where needed.
Responsibilities
· Greet guests and seat them at tables depending on party size, waiter/waitress availability
· Keep track of the waiting list and open tables
· Accurately quote wait times to guests
· Alert and call guests to host stand when the table is bussed and cleaned
· Escort guests to table and present food and drink menus
· Observe and assists in preparing unoccupied tables for customers by wiping surface top, removing debris, and ensure seats are clean
· Assist with waitstaff side work and opening and closing duties
Skills
· Willing to work nights and weekends
· Physically able to wipe down tables and chairs; able to pick up debris from floor; able to carry 10 pounds
· Physically able to stand and move during the length of shift; able to bend and kneel through shift
· Friendly and polite and courteous to all guests
· Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks
· Eager to learn and grow with restaurant
