Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Basketball Coach to join our team IMMEDIATELY. The ideal candidates will have experience working with young children and a strong understanding of basketball fundamentals. As a coach, you will be responsible for planning and leading practices, encouraging player development, managing parent interactions, and ensuring player safety and a positive, inclusive environment for all participants.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct basketball practices tailored to the skill level of K-2nd grade players
- Teach basic basketball skills, rules, and sportsmanship
- Foster a fun and encouraging atmosphere that promotes learning and growth
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and staff
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices and games
- Provide constructive feedback to help players improve their skills and confidence
- Assist with organizing and managing equipment and supplies
- Manage parent communications, addressing concerns, and keeping them informed about practice schedules and player progress
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect players during practices and games
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a coaching or teaching role
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and rules
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, positive, and energetic demeanor
- Ability to create a fun and engaging learning environment
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred)
Additional Requirements
- Must be comfortable and enthusiastic about working with K-2nd grade players
- Availability to work afternoons/evenings and weekends, depending on the practice and game schedule
- Background check and required
