Description:
This part-time position is responsible for providing technical resolution of computer hardware and software issues, which includes covering the Help Desk, going to employees’ offices, and going to sisters’ resident rooms, and utilizing remote desktop software. Supports multiple clients at various locations on a regular basis. Provides technical expertise in the configuration, problem resolution, enhancement, and optimization of networks.
Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone, voicemail, e-mail and in-person assistance requests from employees and sisters experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies
Educating sister individually on the basic use of Windows computers/software, Apple iPhone/iPads, Microsoft Outlook and Office applications as needed.
Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and configures desktop/laptop/tablet computers, printers, scanners, office phones, cell phones and other office equipment.
Documents policies relating to desktop practices and end user instructions.
Monitors network hardware and reports and resolves abnormalities including reviewing “on demand” reports, i.e. amount of time it takes to get e-mail.
Assures that computers have the agreed-upon software throughout the organization.
Logs and tracks calls using our in-house tracking system and maintain history records and related problem documentation.
Occasional after-hours support along with flexibility to expand weekly work hours when needed to cover for other IS staff when off.
Requirements:
Associate’s degree in computer information services or network communication management.
Experience in the following areas is strongly preferred:
- Advanced technical knowledge of PC desktop and laptop hardware, including Windows 10/11, Office 2021/365; Apple iPhones and iPads
- Working with network systems and hardware including Windows Servers, and Microsoft Office products.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Able to use good judgement and work independently. Can prioritize and work on multiple tasks/projects.
Has excellent interpersonal skills. Is collaborative and patient and can work effectively with both sisters and employees.
Able to:
- Sit for long periods of time.
- Walk to buildings on campus to set up and service computers.
- Push, pull, carry, and move computer-related equipment up to 35 lbs.
- Able to install wiring, at times climbing on
