POSITION SUMMARY: The Youth Program Coordinator will plan and lead a wide range of youth and teen programs for our diverse community. This position will develop and supervise new programs at the main Y, and outlying Y facilities (Sedro-Woolley Rec Center, Camp Anderson, etc.) ensuring a safe, social space, that promotes life skills, civic engagement, and fun activities for youth and families.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop new programs that will engage a culturally diverse teen and youth populations in life-enriching activities i.e. Youth in Government, STEM Programs, tutoring services, college workshops, resume building, music performances/event production, Teen Nights, nutrition classes, financial management, etc. Creative ideas are always encouraged!
- Establish and maintain links with service providers in a range of settings including youth focus groups, surveys, parents, schools, local Tribal Leaders, and other CBOs to better evaluate the needs and wants of our youth community and develop new programs that meet the identified needs.
- Keep current on youth and teen activity trends while developing a full range of programs to meet the needs of youth and families in the community.
- Build youth power: positively affect the extent to which youth are viewed as critical perspectives and voices in informing decision-making, increase the extent to which youth actively participate in decision-making.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement program registration, program workshops, and special events that focus on youth and families.
- Responsible for the hiring, training, and supervising of staff and volunteers in the program.
- Model and communicate the YMCA’s core values of respect, responsibility, caring, and honesty.
- Develop, implement, and monitor the program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
- Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information; help to compile program statistics.
- Participate in Branch Fundraising/ Annual Support Campaign.
- Work closely with the Social Impact and Youth Development Teams in facility coordination and program alignment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience
- At least 2-year supervisory experience in teen and/or family-related programming
- Demonstrated success leading member-focused or equivalent teams
- Demonstrated leadership, dependability & flexibility in work hours
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background check
Salary : $22 - $28
