This is a full-time on-site role for a Construction/Carpentry Department Manager at Skunk Train, California Western Railroad, located in Fort Bragg, CA. The ideal candidate will oversee and manage the construction and maintenance of buildings, as well as the upkeep of the Railroad’s infrastructure. They will oversee a team of carpenters, plumbers, and electricians, ensuring that all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and on budget. The Construction/Carpentry Department Manager must also ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes. The successful candidate will have an eye for detail, excellent management and communication skills, and a strong technical background in construction and carpentry.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction management or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in project management and budgeting
- Excellent knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience managing and supervising a team of skilled tradespersons
- Experience with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and schematics

Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
