MK Services in Middleton, MA is growing and adding more positions! We are looking for a Lathe Machinist to add to our 2nd shift !
The CNC Lathe Setup / Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathe machines to produce precision parts for aerospace and defense applications. This role requires a high level of technical skill, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Setup :
Set up CNC lathe machines according to specifications and blueprints.
Install and adjust tooling, fixtures, and machine controls.
Perform first-piece inspections to ensure accuracy and quality.
Operation :
Operate CNC lathe machines to produce parts as per production schedules.
Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
Make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality.
Maintenance :
Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues promptly.
Keep the work area clean and organized.
Quality Control :
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments.
Ensure parts meet all specifications and quality standards.
Document inspection results and maintain records.
Safety :
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical certification in CNC machining or related field is preferred.
Experience :
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in CNC lathe setup and operation.
Experience in aerospace and defense manufacturing is a plus.
Skills :
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong understanding of CNC programming and machine controls.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
