The Smiley Barn is a stunning landmark building filled with unique toys, games, candy and more. Our small, friendly staff goes the extra mile to make sure every customer is delighted by their visit. With less than ten employees, we have a special camaraderie with each other that makes working here extra fun!
We’re looking for an energetic, positive, reliable, hard-working employee with daytime and weekend availability. The Team Lead is a key member of the management team and acts as the lead when the Manager is not present. This role will be responsible for excellent customer service, opening/closing the store, staff oversight, cash and inventory management, sales and other responsibilities as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Supervise and manage all aspects of daily store operations.
- Leadership role directly responsible for subset of store employees as delegated by Store Manager
- Receiving and maintaining inventory management system
- Receiving product shipments
- Ensuring shelves are fully stocked and displays are neat
- Cleaning up the sales floor, restrooms and back areas
- Assembling new displays and products
- Making someone’s day a little brighter!
Required Skills:
- A cheerful, enthusiastic personality
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ideal candidate will be self-starter who takes initiative on projects
- Solid math and computer skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Retail experience and product merchandising preferred
- Regular availability for weekends
- The ability to keep moving throughout the day, including lots of trips up and down the stairs (our inventory room is on the second floor—ugh!)
