What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Representative - Receptionist position at The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics?
The Society for Industrial and Applied Math (SIAM) is looking for a Customer Service Representative/Receptionist to work as part of its Customer Service (CS) team. This position handles reception and will be physically located in the office at our reception area. Therefore, it is an in- office position and not a remote position. The Customer Service Representative/Receptionist position creates a positive first impression for SIAM and manages the daily responsibilities for a variety of SIAM support and customer service needs.
Duties include managing the front desk, managing several customer service email boxes to ensure problems/issues are handled, office attendance, greeting visitors, sorting and distributing mail and special projects. This position will also assist the Customer Service department with a variety of backup duties for the Customer Service group. These duties include order entry and set up, customer information updates, and processing membership packets.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate professionalism and responsiveness to customers and staff and must possess the ability to learn and understand database functionality as it applies to their job. The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be a team person willing to take the initiative and make the extra effort to always provide excellent customer service. This position requires punctuality daily and a strong work ethic.
Qualifications:
2 year’s front desk, customer facing experience, bachelor’s degree a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and have excellent time management skills
Must be punctual daily
Proficient in MS suite, technology savvy, experience working in Personify or association software a plus.
Ability to proactively problem solve and assess big picture organization needs
