TITLE: Supervisor of Supervised Visitation Services, Supervised Visitation and Exchange Program
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
HOURS: Full-time (35hrs/wk) may include evenings and weekends; non-exempt (this position is benefits eligible)
SALARY: $27.80/hr ($50,596 annually)
JOB SUMMARY: The Supervisor of Supervised Visitation Services will provide individual supervision and support to the Visitation Specialists within the Supervised Visitation Program (SVP); as well as assist the SVP Program Manager in all aspects of programming. This position provides ongoing training and support to the team related to visit coaching, interventions, documentation, commitment to best practice and professional development. This position requires a strong commitment to trauma informed and relationship-based practices, diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging and professional reflective capacity.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in human services (e.g., social work, psychology, human development). Minimum of 1-year supervisory experience, along with programmatic supervision strongly preferred, in human services, preferably a non-profit agency setting, with a focus on child welfare, foster care, high conflict custody, trauma, intimate partner violence, child maltreatment, poverty, loss, and developmental risk.
- Proven management skills that include strong organizational, supervisory, analytic and interpersonal skills, and the capacity to balance these factors as a program leader with clinical excellence.
- 3 years working with at risk families, or youth. An understanding of the psycho-social and systemic aspects of child development, risk, family violence, trauma, impact of racial inequities, and distressed family systems.
- Ability to strongly support evidenced-based practice models and the theoretical orientations, knowledge bases and practices related to supervised visitation services including: relationship-based practices, attachment theory, trauma-informed, holistic health and well-being, elements of safety and risk, child development, infant and early childhood mental health, reflective functioning, family systems, intimate partner violence, crisis response, anti-racist framework, parent-child relationship health, concrete assistance.
- Must demonstrate commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work and delivering services with a trauma-informed and equity lens.
- Able to address crisis situations and handle high profile cases in an emotionally regulated manner to help staff and families maintain balance, health, and well-being.
- Self-motivated, responsive and decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands while remaining regulated and compassionate.
- Excellent communication and writing skills that consistently provide clarity.
- Strong computer skills as demonstrated by proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and the ability to work in a variety of cloud-based database systems.
- A valid New York state driver’s license with a good driving record
- Complete Confidentiality Agreement & State Central Register Clearance Form (must be cleared through NYS registry).
