What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Staff Nurse position at The Society/The Link?
Position Summary: The Staff Nurse (RN) is a key member of the clinical operations department. This position supports both the Director of Clinical Operations and Staff Nurses (LPNs) and provides ongoing educational support throughout the agency.
Essential Functions:
· Responsible for overseeing and supporting the delegation processes at all service sites as outlined in Medication Administration Curriculum(s) and Ohio Board of Nursing law and rule.
· Assists the Director of Clinical Operations in the oversight and monitoring of quality assurance practices of healthcare services while completing regular visits to assigned sites.
· Assists the nursing team in individuals care and advisory assistance as needed. Will cover staff nurses’ assigned sites on an as needed and assigned basis. May be asked to assist or participate as needed on call as well as work weekends or holidays.
· Provides routine clinical assistance, guidance, support and education to assigned waiver sites.
· Responsible for the overall surveillance and management of Infection Prevention and Control Practices including, but not limited to, vaccinations, reportable infectious diseases, regulatory compliance (i.e. OSHA, CMS, ODH, DODD) and outbreak management.
· Provides ongoing clinical related education, utilizing various delivery modalities, to employees and individuals relevant to agency needs and regulation.
· Serves or chairs both internal and/or external committees, serves as an effective leader and communicator, is self-motivated, dependable and flexible.
· Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude, teamwork and effective working relationship with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate quality service delivery and a positive agency image.
· Adheres to The Society’s policies and acts as a role model in adherence to these policies.
· Performs all other duties as assigned.
Bona-fide Occupationally Required Competencies and Credentials:
- Licensed in the state of Ohio, RN license. At least one (1) year of experience in the field of developmental disabilities.
- Must obtain and maintain certification in CPR and PMT as required.
- Displays knowledge of Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Ohio Department of Medicaid, Ohio Department of Health and Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities and Center for Medicaid and Medicare regulations.
- Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Must have basic computer and word processing skills.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License, good driving record and carry liability insurance coverage limits required by The Society.
Location: As assigned
Travel: Meetings and site visits within the agency; meetings and seminars outside of the agency.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt; Full-time (40 hrs./week)

Pay: $66,000.00 - $73,000.00 per year
