What are the responsibilities and job description for the Store Manager position at The Sod Lot?
Manager of a retail Sod store located in Summerfield, FL selling pieces and pallets of sod to homeowners and landscapers. Must be able to work independently, operate a wheel loader, load customers with pieces of sod (you will get dirty), cold call new customers to grow the business, handle minor customer complaints, keep the location clean and organized. While we do not currently offer health insurance, we do have sick time, vacation time and upcoming retirement plan. Work hours are 7:30-4:30 m-f and during spring, summer and fall we are open 8-12 on Saturday. Pay is dependent on experience but around $18 per hour and there are quarterly bonuses.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the store, ensuring efficient and effective functioning
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries and resolving any issues
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering and restocking merchandise
- Implement marketing initiatives to drive sales and increase store visibility
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience in sales or retail management is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
