As the Renewable Energy Project Designer, you will be responsible for designing and managing renewable energy projects from inception to completion. This role involves obtaining necessary permits, generating estimates, coordinating with sales, and ensuring successful project execution. Key Responsibilities:
- Project Design and Planning:
- Collaborate with the sales team to gather project requirements and specifications.
- Develop detailed project designs and layouts using Solargraf software.
- Generate accurate project estimates, including costs, manpower, and materials.
- Permitting and Approvals:
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals from local authorities and utility companies.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
- Project Coordination:
- Create and manage sales orders and project documentation.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure timely project execution.
- Prepare and organize label packages for project components.
- Installation and Verification:
- Oversee the installation process and ensure all components are correctly installed.
- Verify system operation and performance post-installation.
- Conduct final inspections and ensure project meets all quality standards.

Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.

Expected Hours of Work:
Monday through Friday with an estimated total of 40 hours per week. Schedule may fluctuate based on business and/or customer needs.
Travel:
Limited travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Proven experience in renewable energy project design and management.
- Proficiency in multiple software packages including QuickBooks, Outlook, Excel, Word, Solargraf, and Scoop software and project management tools.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and permitting processes.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with solar PV systems and other renewable energy technologies.
- Knowledge of utility approval processes and standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
