We currently have an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join our team to help with repairs, upkeep of buildings, appearance and cleanliness inside and out for all SCADD facilities. This position requires driving an agency vehicle throughout the Lebanon/Norwich/New London area. Candidates must have a working knowledge of building systems, structure, interiors and exteriors, and grounds so the facility and all of its required systems function efficiently, reliably, safely, securely, and in a manner consistent with existing regulations and standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Maintain buildings by performing routine painting and minor repairs to electrical, plumbing and carpentry problems.
- Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
- Maintains grounds - mow grass, trim shrubs, clear litter, keep fences and walls free of vegetation; clean snow, ice and debris from sidewalks and parking areas at all SCADD properties as assigned.
- Complete weekly fire and safety reports as assigned
- Participate in safety committee meetings as assigned
- Available after hours to respond to emergency problems.
- Responsible for readying all facilities for seasonal changes such as maintaining and installing or removing air conditioners, ice / snow removal supplies and equipment mowers, etc.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three to six months of related experience; working knowledge of trades. Valid Driver's license required with acceptable driving record (no or minimal infractions) required.
