Pharma Manufacturing Project Manager Hexagon and SAP (EAM Automation/Maintenance Reliability System)

Position Summary:
The Spear Group has a great opportunity for a Pharma Manufacturing Automation or Information Systems or Manufacturing Operations Technology Professional Project Manager to support our leading pharmaceutical / life sciences manufacturing client with their continuous cutting edge industrial maintenance automation technology in a rapidly evolving manufacturing systems industry. The Project Manager will lead the implementation of Hexagons EAM/Maintenance tool in conjunction with an existing SAP enterprise system for the continuous improvement of manufacturing maintenance monitoring and management (MARS maintenance, availability, reliability, spares).
The ideal Project Manager will lead this project with the goal of championing manufacturing equipment maintenance optimization through the innovation, quality, and efficiency of automation and information systems technology. The driven Project Manager will lead the successful implementation of Hexagon with SAP for our world class pharma company client at their site in the Raleigh / Greenville NC area. Key Responsibilities:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end implementation of the Hexagon maintenance tool integration utilizing SAP data. This includes managing all aspects of project planning, execution, and delivery within scope, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in project management, with a background in manufacturing, EAS systems, MARS information systems and familiarity with Hexagon (or similar maintenance product) and SAP enterprise solutions/modules. The Project Manager will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the project aligns with business / stakeholder objectives, regulatory standards, and operational goals. The ideal PM will have experience driving manufacturing automation, information systems, and digital transformation. This role will lead the implementation of the Hexagon EAM (Enterprise Asset Management/Maintenance) solution integrated with SAP for better enterprise-wide maintenance and asset management and predictability.
As an Automation Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of the Hexagon EAM / Maintenance solution, ensuring seamless integration with SAP. You will manage the project from planning through execution, including coordinating with stakeholders, aligning business goals with technical requirements, managing resources, and driving project delivery within scope, timeline, and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project implementation.
- Serve as the primary Hexagon integration lead involving SAP.
- Effectively manage the project to deliver on time, on cost and according to client quality expectations.
- Develop project plans, including scope, budget, deliverables, schedule and project team responsibilities in order to accomplish project objectives.
- Coordinate work and provide instructions, advice, leadership and guidance to a cross functional group of team members.
- Review work and team members activities, in progress, and assessing completed work for accuracy, required results and desired quality.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication between project team members, management and operations.
- Facilitate the resolution of issues and escalations, fostering team buy-in, for end solutions.
- Participate in project scoping activities.
- Preparing owner facing and internal status and financial reporting
- Other duties as assigned
Required Experience and Education:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or information systems or any other STEM major related to manufacturing operational technology /automation or similar extensive work experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years project management experience implementing large software implementations
- Prior experience with managing complex technical information systems integration projects preferably in pharma manufacturing automation/MARS modules.
- Strong written and oral communication and critical thinking skills
- Intermediate to senior level knowledge of manufacturing maintenance automation systems and ops tech tools like SAP, Maximo, or Hexagon proficiency
- A self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal skills.
- 3 - 10 years of Project Management experience
- 2 - 5 years of pharma manufacturing maintenance / EAM system management/implementation.
- Solid understanding of Project Management pillars and organization.
