Position: Senior Auditor Construction Audit Activities
Location: Carteret, NJ
Position Summary:
The Spear Group has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Auditor to contribute to the exciting and innovative Pharma / Life Sciences industry as a finance process & controls professional ensuring financial capital compliance. The position will focus on global compliance construction audit activities and reports to the pharma clients Senior Compliance Manager at our pharma clients site in the Carteret, NJ area. The ideal compliance audit professional will continuously look for ways to improve audit and risk management processes while leveraging technology and data management to maximize value add to the construction project teams. The ideal candidate will be considered a valuable SME on the capital project teams supporting capital construction project senior managers by standardizing processes and utilizing technology in a collaborative project team environment. The ideal candidate must be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, have strong problem-solving skills, tenacity, strong collaboration skills with a continuous improvement and curious mindset toward latest technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end to end (E2E) construction compliance audits for fiscal year audit plan, through invoice reviews, external document verifications, data analytics and reporting related to one or more construction projects.
- Delegates portions of audit work to supporting auditor(s) mentoring and upskilling them on the knowledge of E2E Audit Process, CAPA documentation and follow through requirements of all Audit Findings.
- Utilizes standards and procedures to ensure compliance with contractual documents.
- Maintain comprehensive audit work paper documentation that fully supports reported audit results.
- Advises project team and suppliers of non-compliance to contract terms, negotiates resolution of disputed items, and communicates resolution to appropriate team members, including capital procurement.
- Follows through to closure, on all findings that are out of compliance.
- Responds to internal and external customers as needed in a service-oriented manner.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
- Bachelors Degree required, preferably in Quantity Survey / Engineering / Audit / Finance
- A minimum of 7 - 10 years of demonstrated work experience within Capital Construction Audit, project controls, or construction management.
- Experience or knowledge of audit report writing.
- Understanding of information technology and ability to use various applications and systems.
- Knowledge of construction, project management, contract management, and best practices is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with engineering and capital project management, EPCM partners, and business process owners.
- Good presentation skills striving for the best way to communicate information to a collaborative professional team.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work within a team as well as independently.
- Attention to detail, tenacity, and the ability to multi-task are essential to the position.
- Willing to embrace and support process change.
- Must be comfortable in an environment of changing technologies and processes and demonstrate flexibility in adjusting to new & improved processes.
- SAP experience is desirable, and various cost reporting applications.
- Integrity, professionalism, and personal ethics in implementing corporate policies and procedures.
- Ability to take ownership of a tasks, with minimal direction and bring to a successful resolution/conclusion.
- Organized and able to prioritize effectively to meet business objectives.
