Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and flexible Small Group Paraprofessional to work with children with disabilities at our summer camp. This is a 3-week position where the paraprofessional will support three to four children with disabilities throughout the camp day to ensure a positive, engaging and safe environment for all campers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with camp staff
- Follow all SNSC policies including documentation
- Monitor and assist with campers’ personal care needs (e.g., mobility, eating, toileting, changing etc.), as needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive camp environment
- Help implement individualized care plans, working in collaboration with camp leadership and other staff members to ensure the physical, emotional, and social well-being of each camper.
- Manage and support campers’ behavior in a positive, respectful, and constructive manner.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times.
- Assist with camp setup, clean-up, and other tasks as necessary.
- Support campers in the pool.
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Able to pull a wagon and/or push a wheelchair
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children, preferably those with disabilities.
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to the unique needs of individual campers.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain before the start of the camp).
- Previous experience in a summer camp or educational setting is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or training in special education or related fields is a plus.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
