The Aviation Instructor will assist in developing online aviation ground training and testing for pilots, cabin crew, ground crew, maintenance/safety personnel, and office personnel. You’ll leverage your operational or training experience in commercial, charter, or corporate flight operations to guide all phases of initial and recurrent ground training development for Part 135, 125, and 91, 145, as well as for worldwide international operations and specialty curriculums for fixed-wing and rotor-wing operators. This pivotal role will drive long-term client value by ensuring content alignment with industry standards and recommended best practices. Will be working closely with our in-house content development team to deliver high-impact solutions and experiences to help every client succeed in all their training goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a framework for online training courses and educational material at the appropriate level for each client to ensure the end users of our products acquire the proper skills, knowledge, and/or can demonstrate competence in material application. To establish this, we develop to one of four learning levels: Rote, Understanding, Application, and Correlation.
  • Scope projects based on client-supplied material, independent research, and/or collaboration with subject matter experts, leading to the creation of online courses and educational materials (to include tutorials, learning checkpoints, questions, and course guides).
  • Analyze each project to ensure the specific goals and respective training, learning, educational, industry standards, or regulatory expectations are met while producing the desired training outcomes.
  • Revise/update courseware based on client feedback/regulatory changes to ensure training accuracy and relevance to the audience.
  • Organize and package all research and scoping deliverables for project stakeholder consideration and Development Team production.
  • Contribute accurate and timely feedback to the Development Team to ensure material is accurate, consistent, easy to understand, follows in-house style guide, and delivers the intended learning objectives.
  • Provide guidance on any questions regarding accuracy of training elements, feedback from clients and others in our organization, as well as course catalog, regulatory items, and industry SARPs (standards and recommended practices).
  • Assist the Chief Strategy and Customer Experience Officer in project tracking and prioritization to ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks, provide direction to the Content Team, and ensure project triage aligns with company objective / industry standards.

Experience

  • Practical experience in the aviation sector (flight, dispatch, maintenance, cabin crew, and/or air medical).
  • Well-versed in the language of aviation, knowing the difference between Part 91 and Part 135 is beneficial, as is being able to navigate the alphabet lexicon (terms like 8900, OpSpecs, LOA, FAR-AIM, PBN, GPS, CPDLC, or ADS-B should be conversational items for you).
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, CRM (such as Zoho), and project management systems (such as Zoho Projects).
  • Excellent research, organizational, time management, oral/written communication, proofreading, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and projects whether working independently or within a team.
  • Demonstrate initiative by self-managing tasks while easily adapting to change.
  • Analytical and logical decision-maker; a problem-solver with strong skills in active listening and organizing complex material.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 30%).

Additional Experience Preferred:

  • Experience as a pilot/instructor in Part 91/125/135/145 operations along with an understanding of aviation industry standards and recommended practices on a global scale (or at least on the FAA scale, but willing to learn the global standards).
  • Minimum of 3 years of education/curriculum development, such as experience in: training, teaching, flight/ground instructor roles.
  • A solid understanding of the learning process from a strategic and tactical vantage point and managing the training lifecycle, with an ability to organize and develop training material with company objectives and end-user impact in mind.
  • Enthusiasm and desire to learn and ability to enhance your market and product knowledge toward offering custom-tailored solutions.
  • Polished presentation skills and comfortability in presenting via video calls, large audiences, and anything in between.
