MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE TEACHER AND ECOLOGY PROGRAM LEAD
Full time, to begin August 2025
Overview
Spence’s Science Department seeks an experienced educator to join a department committed to collaboration, pedagogical inquiry, and to empowering girls and women in the sciences. This position is also an opportunity to deepen and expand the School’s K-12 Ecology program—an interdisciplinary initiative centered on environmental studies. This dynamic offering engages students in real-world problem-solving and scientific research, fostering collaboration across disciplines to address ecological challenges.
Responsibilities
- Teach two Middle School Science courses and one Upper School Ecology Fellowship
- Lead the growth, evolution and integration of the K-12 Ecology program
- Collaborate in teaching teams to design curriculum, assessments, and teaching methods
- Participate in department-wide initiatives about issues of equity, pedagogy, and curriculum
- Serve as a Middle School School advisor
