Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring that patients receive high-quality care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to perform various clinical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Confirm reason for visit and gather relevant medical information: update medication, confirm pharmacy, obtain height and weight.
- Setup rooms and instruments for in-office procedures and tests.
- Assure in-office injection consent forms are completed and signed off on by physician.
- Write out prescriptions based off doctors' orders.
- Monitor providers schedules for patient flow, timely arrivals and check outs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and clinical areas.
- Maintaining inventory and stocking rooms daily, checking expiration dates and quantities.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and demonstrate professionalism and ethical conduct in all interactions.
- Follow all practice and department protocols as directed.
Experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with patients and families.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare systems, and community resources.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other office software applications.
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude toward patients and families.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
