What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procedure Scheduler position at The Spine Hospital of Louisiana?
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procedure Scheduler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling procedures and ensuring all necessary arrangements are made for the patient and procedural team. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth and efficient procedure schedule. Your duties will include:
- Demonstrates a consistently high degree of accuracy in the accomplishment of daily activities.
- Possesses knowledge of scheduling pain procedures according to SHOLA Policies
- Demonstrates understanding of the physician's preferences, including time requirements and resources required for various procedures.
- Receive information regarding proposed services via phone, fax, email, or SHOLA scheduling bucket.
- Coordinate and manage the schedules of multiple physicians to ensure the efficient use of rooms and resources.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, clinical staff, admissions, billing, management, and peers to facilitate smooth scheduling operations.
- Demonstrates understanding of the various time requirements and resources required for different procedures.
- Assists the pre-admission nurse by ensuring all necessary documentation has been obtained from the referring physician’s office or another healthcare provider. Documents accordingly.

Requirements:Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in medical scheduling.
Special Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and medical scheduling software. Meditech/Meditech Expanse is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for long periods.
