In addition to our daily offerings, The Spiral Staircase serves as a gorgeous event venue for weddings, anniversaries, corporate events, and milestone celebrations. Our stunning venue helps bring every vision to life with charm, sophistication, and personalized service.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated Financial Intern to join our dynamic team and contribute to the financial operations of both the social club and event venue.
Position Overview:
This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial management within a women-centered business. You’ll work closely with our finance team, assisting with budgeting, financial reporting, and event cost analysis, all while supporting the operations of a thriving community space.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Support:
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning for club activities, events, and venue rentals.
- Track and manage income and expenses for both the club’s daily operations and special events.
- Help prepare financial reports and contribute insights into spending trends and revenue growth.
- Assist with invoicing, payments, and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Prepare for audits by organizing financial documentation and supporting team members.
- Analyze financial data to optimize spending and identify opportunities for growth.
- Maintain and update financial tracking sheets for transparency and accuracy.
Event and Membership Financial Oversight:
- Monitor event budgets, ensuring costs align with planned financial forecasts.
- Track member payments, membership renewals, and other financial data associated with club operations.
- Assist with vendor management, including contracts, payments, and budget alignment for events.
- Collaborate with the events team to ensure financial goals are met for each gathering.
- Reconcile event income and expenditure to ensure accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with financial software is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams.
- An interest in the event planning, hospitality, or wellness industries is a plus.
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Quickbooks experience a plus
