The Spring is looking for an experienced Lead Guest Advocate.
The Spring is a faith-based shelter offering love, compassion, and resources to help people who experience domestic violence or escape human sex trafficking to survive and thrive.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Lead Guest Advocate serves as program staff in day-to-day operations of The Spring Emergency Crisis Shelter, assisting guests and their children in meeting their goals and connecting them with programs and services both inside and outside of The Spring. A Lead Advocate will carry additional responsibilities in leading other guest advocates, leading group activities and assisting the Shelter management with shelter-level duties
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be available to meet immediate needs of the guests and their children
- Gather information via telephone or face-to-face interviews from perspective guests
- Chart in guest’s charts and record appropriate service codes
- Advocate for assigned case load and connect guests with on-site and other resources
- Complete discharges according to policy and procedures
- Assist with meal preparation as needed
- Answer telephones and front door as needed
- Transport guests in The Spring vehicles as needed
- Be available for emergencies and respond accordingly
- Provide reports and on-going guest goal communication to the next shift
- Support a group of Guest Advocates by helping to lead them in client relations and guest goals
- Meet with new guests within 72 hours of them being at The Spring to ensure all intake paperwork is completedaccording to policy and procedures, helping to acclimate them to The Spring, and assigning new guests their ongoing guest advocate
- Lead at least 1 group or activity per week at The Spring
- Assist in theafter-hours on call rotation for one week at a time, 24 hours each day
- Attend training as needed to meet domestic violence, sexual assault, and human sex trafficking standards
- Available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Work an occasional night and weekend shift as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in a related field or 3 years of related experience required
- Able to successfully handle multiple demands and perform effectively despite changing priorities
- One year experience in social services preferred.
- Willing and able to work both independently and as a team member
- Must have valid Oklahoma driver’s license

- Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and ethical standards

- Computer experience required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent attention to detail
